CELEBRATING THE ICONICS - SERIES | PART I | SUSTAINABLE INTERIOR DESIGN

Architecture plays a paramount role in our day-day lives.  The homes we live in, the buildings were we work, schools, hospitals, museums, historical buildings, to the famous iconic structures all over the world; it is all around us.

Todays interior concepts/designs and furniture styles have all been influenced by Architecture.

Join me in this series, CELEBRATING THE ICONICS where we will be applauding some of the most ingenious, timeless, iconic furniture designs and designers of the last century.

Today we celebrate the...............

Barcelona Chair and Stool ca. 1929

The Barcelona Chair, designed by Mies Van Der Rohe, is one of the most highly recognized furniture pieces of all time.  An empty corner in my living room has been reserved for this icon and matching ottoman which I have been absolutely in love with for decades.

This chair can be integrated with most design styles and oozes simple sophistication.

Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe also designed many other iconic pieces.  Here are just a few.

Bruno Chair - Tubular ca. 1930

Barcelona Couch ca. 1930

and this amazing chrome glass table which perfectly compliments any of his masterpieces
