CELEBRATING THE ICONICS SERIES | PART II | SUSTAINABLE INTERIOR DESIGN

In this series, CELEBRATING THE ICONICS we are applauding some of the most ingenious, timeless, iconic furniture designs and designers of the last century.

Continuing with Part 11 of the series on CELEBRATING THE ICONICS and adding to my collection of personal favourites;

Today we celebrate ...........

Saarinen Oval Dining Table ca. 1958

This pedestal table was designed by Eero Saarinen who was also an amazing architect and designer of furniture.

Saarinen Tulip Chair ca. 1958

Eero Saarinen thought that the legs under tables were "ugly and confusing" and called them "slum of legs." After a five year design study he produced his amazing Pedestal Collection which included the Tulip Chair.

Saarinen Womb Chair and Ottoman ca. 1948

 The Womb chair feels like you are sitting in a basketful of pillows.

Saarinen Executive Arm Chair ca. 1950

This chair gave new meaning of what executive seating could be with its sculptural form and modern design.
